Writing under the name Antonette Renee, Antonette Renee Block-Burries' first published novel titled, ESSENCE OF PASSION, is a romance novel published by Picasso Publications, Inc. Antonette Renee has also written an essay titled Settling vs. Unconditional Love published in the premier summer 2000 issue of First Focus Magazine; a magazine issued by the Black Women's Literary Forum. 

Antonette Renee has been writing since her early teens. At the age of twelve, her first essay was published in a Christian magazine. And now currently working on her second novel, a sequel to ESSENCE OF PASSION, Antonette Renee resides in Southern California with her three daughters. Her career includes work in the film and television industry as a professional makeup artist and she also holds a California real estate license.

Passionate about writing, Antonette Renee is endeavoring to cultivate her craft. She is also passionate about the art of makeup. She equates her writing to her being a professional makeup artist. "The possibilities are endless with colors and tools, just as they are with ink, paper and words".


ROBY, KIMBERLA LAWSON - LIST OF BOOKS

Kimberla Lawson Roby is author of the critically acclaimed, best-selling novels CASTING THE FIRST STONE, HERE AND NOW, and her debut title, BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, which was originally self-published through her own company, Lenox Press.  She has completed three national book tours and is currently attending book club discussions, expos, writers' conferences, colleges, universities and other literary events throughout the country on request. 

Her novels have frequented numerous bestseller lists, including those listed in Essence Magazine, Emerge Magazine and The Dallas Morning News, and both BEHIND CLOSED DOORS and CASTING THE FIRST STONE were #1 Blackboard bestsellers for four consecutive months in 1997 and 2000 respectively.  In addition, Ms. Roby's first novel was nominated for Blackboard's 1998 and 1999 Fiction Book of the Year Award, and she received the 1998 First-Time Author Award from Chicago's Black History Month Book Fair and Conference.

Ms Roby's first three novels each dealt with very real issues---social status, gambling addiction, and infidelity in BEHIND CLOSED DOORS; single motherhood, infertility, and sibling rivalry in HERE AND NOW; and corruption within the church in CASTING THE FIRST STONE.  In IT'S A THIN LINE, the tradition continues with the story centering on domestic violence, sexual abuse, and care-giving of a parent.

Ms. Roby was born in Rockford, IL and still resides there with her husband, Will.  She is currently working on her fifth novel.

Native New Yorker Deirdre Savoy spent her summers on the shores of Martha's Vineyard. The island proved to be the perfect setting for her first novel, SPELLBOUND, published by BET/Arabesque Books in 1999.  SPELLBOUND received rave reviews and earned her the distinction of the first Rising Star author of ROMANCE IN COLOR and was voted their Best New Author of 1999.  Deirdre's second book, ALWAYS, was published by BET/Arabesque in October 2000, and a third, ONCE AND AGAIN, is planned for 2001.  Deirdre is a member of Romance Writers of America and The African American Online Author's Guild.


SIMS, JANICE - LIST OF BOOKS

My first novel, AFFAIR OF THE HEART was published in July 1996.  After that, I was one of the authors in Arabesque's 1997 St. Valentine's Day anthology, LOVE LETTERS.  Donna Hill and Rochelle Alers are the other authors in the book.  In June 1997, ALL THE RIGHT REASONS was published.  This was my first attempt at Romantic Suspense.  In December 1998, OUT OF THE BLUE, debuted.  It was also a Romantic Suspense with a touch of Science-Fiction.  FOR KEEPS (September 1999) was a Romantic Comedy and earned a ROMANCE IN COLOR AWARD OF EXCELLENCEA BITTERSWEET LOVE came out in March 2000 followed by the Mother's Day anthology (with Courtni Wright and Kayla Perrin), A VERY SPECIAL LOVE.  In January 2001, A SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE will be published.  It's the sequel to ALL THE RIGHT REASONS.  I'm presently working on a novella for a women's fiction anthology to be published by St. Martin's Press in Fall of 2001.

Maureen Smith is a freelance writer whose articles have been featured in various newspapers, magazines, and Web sites. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of Maryland, College Park. She lives in Upper Marlboro, Maryland with her husband and two children. When she isn't tending to her family, Maureen can usually be found with her nose buried in a book or sitting in front of the computer tapping away furiously. She is currently working on her second novel.

Wanda Y. Thomas is the oldest daughter of seven children in a family of military brats (air force).  She is an avid reader, who particularly like biographies, good sci-fi novels and of course, romance novels.  Writing for Genesis Press and their Indigo line, Wanda enjoys creating characters who are so real, they could be the people next door.  Her first novel, TRULY INSEPARABLE was published in October 1998.  Her second, FOREVER LOVE was released in November 2000.  SUBTLE SECRETS is scheduled for released in June 2001.  Wanda currently resides in Aurora, CO with her teenaged son.

Jahmel West was born in Chicago, Il. She works as a social worker in Gary, IN, where she currently resides. The second of six children she was raised in a home where she says, "everyone loved reading but I was the one who took it to the extreme. I always had a million stories running through my head but I never put them down until I went to college." PAST PROMISES is her debut romance from Genesis Press. Angela Winters is the author of several romance and romantic suspense novels, as well as one romantic novella.  Her first romance novel, ONLY YOU was printing in January 1997 to great reviews. She followed with her first romantic novella, MAMA DEAR: NEVER SAY NEVER in May 1997.  Her second novel, and first romantic suspense, SWEET SURRENDER came out in March 1998, followed by another romantic suspense, ISLAND PROMISE in November.  Her fourth novel, SUDDEN LOVE, is a romance and murder mystery released in June 1999. Her fifth novel, A FOREVER PASSION, about deep dark family secrets going all the way back to Africa, was released with great success and reviews in February 2000. Her sixth novel, THE BUSINESS OF LOVE, about murder and passion in the backdrop of big business is set for release August 2000. In 2001, Angela will have two books coming out. KNOW BY HEART is a romantic suspense set in the hi-tech world of Silicon Valley and an as yet untitled book bringing back the main characters from A FOREVER PASSION due to readers demands to see their favorite characters again.
