REVIEW: Renowned
author Brenda Jackson’s new novel, QUADE'S BABIES,
is a quick and delightful read. Beneath the docile tile lies a titillatingly
passionate romance.
The night beautiful model Cheyenne Steele meets handsome and mysterious Quade
Westmoreland on the sands of Egypt they share a night of passion beyond anything
she’s every experienced. However, months later she receives mementos she didn’t
bargained for. Quade Westmoreland is not in the habit of sleeping with strangers
but there’s something about Cheyenne that touched his soul that night. Imagine
his surprise when he sees her on the cover of a magazine and her physique is
considerable altered since the time they were together.
It seems their night of passion resulted in an unplanned pregnancy.
Being a man of honor, Quade
confronts Cheyenne who confesses she has made no efforts to find him but will
not deny him the opportunity to be apart of his children’s lives. Unfortunately
this is not enough for Quade who wants to be a full time dad and husband to
Cheyenne. She resists his proposals realizing it was love that led her into his
bed that night and only his love will lead her to a life with him. Quade has his
work cut out for him trying to convince Cheyenne that what they share goes
beyond a night of passion and he too wants a life time of love.
QUADE'S BABIES
is a great novel and an engaging story line and, if this isn’t enough to inspire
readers: then believe me when I say, the love scenes are poker hot. Quade and
Cheyenne’s passion fly off the pages leaving you feeling like a voyeur yet
unable to stop.
There are several characters but the main characters Quade and Cheyenne are both
very likeable and engaging. They both lead very interesting dual lives which
give them a dimension that is larger than life. The Westmoreland and Steele clan
are meddlers but all in the name of love. There is no solid indication of
another romance brewing from the story of Quade and Cheyenne but certainly Ms.
Jackson is not finished with the Westmoreland and Steele clan.
The story is initially set in exotic Egypt on a moonlit beach but most of the
story unfolds in North Carolina; the home town of Cheyenne and the Steele clan.
Conversations are part of the novel’s delight and enjoyment. The chemistry
between Quade and Cheyenne is raw, real and revealing. So too is the sense of
love and loyalty among the Westmoreland’s and Steele’s.
