REVIEW:
Madisyn O’Riley is a
full-figured, independent woman who’s tired of people taking advantage of her.
She’s just dumped her cheating boyfriend of two years, and is wondering why she
continues to befriend Keisha, who believes that the reason Madisyn can’t get or
keep a good man is because she’s not a size two. Aidan Coles is a wide receiver
for the Dallas Cowboys, who manages to live and keep his private life out of the
news. All he’s looking for is some volunteers who are interested in helping him
with his charity, Mature Alliance, not another gold-digger looking for a pay
day.
Madisyn decides to volunteer to help Aidan with Mature Alliance after being
introduced at a party. She believes in his dedication to alleviating adult
illiteracy and Madisyn is one of those people who goes out of her way to help
someone in need. She becomes the administrative head of the program when she is
the only non-athlete volunteer to show up for the first meeting. Madisyn is
attracted to Aidan, but she has trouble believing that the feelings are mutual.
She has self-esteem issues which mainly center around her weight. Aidan doesn’t
allow his stature as a professional athlete to go to his head like some of his
friends. However, he can’t believe his luck when he meets Madisyn. He also can’t
believe the calming affect she has on his life or her ability to understand his
feelings and help him sort through some issues with his mother and step-father.
When Madisyn’s life is threatened by her “ex”, Aidan risks his life and his
career to save her.
2 GOOD is set in Dallas, Texas, and is an
interesting love story with an intriguing sub-plot that will keep you turning
the pages. Both of the main characters are strong-willed, loyal and caring.
Aidan’s behavior towards his step-father can probably be mirrored in many homes
across this country; it’s a lesson that many can benefit from. This is also a
story about loving the skin that you are in, regardless of what others may think
about you. The many characters are worked seamlessly into the story. Madisyn’s
family fully supported the main characters and would do whatever it took to
assure their safety.
2 GOOD is a good read.
