PLOT SYNOPSIS:

REVIEW:

A DANGEROUS LOVE is one of the best African-American romances I’ve read for the year.  An excellent collaboration of two authors: one black, one white.  I must admit that I approached this book with caution, and a bit of skepticism, but I'm happy to say that A DANGEROUS LOVE is all that the publishers promised and much, much more.  Ms. Jeffries has written a powerful story with strong characters who you grow to care for by the end of their story.

Detective Elena Jackson is a dedicated detective and has just been transferred to the Cold Case Unit.  Her first case is a difficult one.  She must find the killer of Mary Lynn Warner whose husband, Adam Elliot, is the prime suspect.

At first, Elena believes that Adam is guilty, but when Adam’s close friend, Reardon North, a lawyer, takes on his case, she battles to maintain her equilibrium and not allow her feelings for the handsome lawyer influence her.  The attraction between the two protagonists is immediate, and what develops is story filled with shimmering sexual tension that they both try to control, but cannot deny.

Ms. Jeffries’ hero and heroine are wonderful creations.  Appealing, attractive, the reader can empathize with their predicament, but cannot fail to cheer when the two finally give in to their passion.  Elena and Reardon are two of this year’s most memorable lovers.

With her Cupid books, Ms. Jeffries’ skill and popularity as a romance author was evident.  With A DANGEROUS LOVE she is sure to gain new fans.  The elegant flow of her writing is proof that she is an outstanding talent, capable of writing with style and emotion.

Ms. Jeffries has penned a story that will long be remembered, and is sure to be on everyone’s list as one of the best books of the new millennium.
