woman who falls for a man who loves her for her body--and her soul.

REVIEW: Successful event organizer Velma Brighton knows all about planning stunning events but she is clueless on how to let go
of her insecurities to have a fulfilling relationship. Self-contained Russ Harrington guards his heart and emotions with an ironclad fist
except where Velma is concerned. Her contrast of fiery yet soft woman weakens his resolve.
In AFTER THE LOVING, Gwynne Forster has a vibrant cast of characters that show what love and family is all about. During her sister's
wedding plus-size Velma Brighton feels uncomfortable in her form-fitting bridesmaid dress especially when the faced with Russ Harrington, the
no--nonsense brother of the groom. Velma is attracted to Russ and although the light in his eyes when he sees her is reassuring, her
insecurities creep in robbing her of her usual confidence. After the wedding, Velma stays to take care of her adorable niece, Tara and her
close proximity with Russ only deepens the attraction she feels.
Russ Harrington impatient with Velma's lack of self-confidence tries to control his attraction. He wants Velma but her insecurities make him
hesitate however as time goes by Velma manages to get under his skin. Velma fear of being overweight colors their relationship while Russ
impatience with Velma leads him to retreat from her. Before she loses Russ, Velma must realize her worth as a person and that issues in her
past should not hold back her future.
Ms. Forster has a wonderful cast of minor characters that enrich the feeling of family and friendship. The sassy cook, Mr. Henry with his
strong opinions brings laughter and wisdom. Tara, Alexis' inquisitive five-year old daughter shows the softer side to Russ. The tight
relationship between Telford, Russ, Drake - the Harrington brothers- bring home the priceless feeling family inspires.
The novel, AFTER THE LOVING draws the reader into not just a story of romance between Russ and Velma but into the various emotions of
insecurities, longing and finally acceptance, they experience. The story flows with such natural intensity that the reader will be able to
feel, touch and breathe each emotion. AFTER THE LOVING, is a true triumph of what romance is all about.
Ms.Forster takes you through the vivid imagery of inner city Baltimore and the rich countryside of Maryland with such ease you feel as if you
have paid a visit to a wonderful new locale.
AFTER THE LOVING is, an arresting read that gripped me and didn't let me go. The characters and storyline bring life to the page. With
each turn of the page, the Velma and Russ became more than characters in a novel. They became real. This is the true testament to a well-told
story. After reading this novel, I had to go back and read the first Harrington novel. I enjoyed it and eagerly await the next novel of the
Harrington's.
Gwynne Forster delivers an inspiring and truly fulfilling read.
