REVIEW: Quinn Sibley, daytime television diva,
thinks the sun revolves around her. She’s even had a few doors slammed
in her face because of her ego. Now she’s fearful about her career since
she’s been out of work awhile. She returns to the small town of
Sibleyville, with a filming crew, and barges in on Wyatt Granger. Wyatt
has had feelings for Quinn since the day he met her. Quinn, of course,
has treated him like he’s beneath her. She’s trying to persuade him to
use his home to film her movie and thinks that if she can seduce him,
that he’ll do whatever she says. Wyatt, on the other hand, sees this as
a chance to be with Quinn. How ironic that neither is prepared for the
rollercoaster ride that is about to begin.
I enjoyed this ride with Wyatt and Quinn. Quinn thought she had Wyatt
just where she wanted him, but of course Wyatt that had her second
guessing herself in the end. The love scenes are hot; I was shocked that
Quinn met her match in someone she felt couldn’t hold a candle to her.
Again, opposites do attract. Quinn is definitely not your average woman
and she gave this town an earful. She has an ego that is wide as a door
and she’s beautiful, but deep down the woman has issues that she hides
them behind her obnoxious attitude. Quinn needs love and is afraid to
open her heart.
Wyatt came out of his quiet demeanor and started taking control of
things; I really liked that about him. Wyatt wants the kids and the
house with the picket fence. He’s also talented and just needs a good
woman to push him in the right direction. Not often do you hear a man
talking about commitments like this, so he is definitely a keeper. When
the two finally hook up sparks are definitely flying. The plot is
creative and it brings a lot of twists to the story; especially the
secrets that unfold. Here you have a small town, its insecurities, and
its old fashion ways, so the excitement gave them something to talk
about.
AT FIRST TOUCH is the second installment in the series about the
three Sibley sisters. I recommend reading AT FIRST SIGHT and then
this book, both are very good reads. Ms. Sneed connects the characters
and the storyline very well and I commend her on a job well done.
