REVIEW: BLESSED TRINITY is an excellent
rendition of inspirational prose, penned by the prolific author Vanessa
Davis Griggs. A novel filled with mystery and intrigue; battles for
supremacy and scenes of humility; love won and love lost; relational
difficulties, struggles of the psyche imbedded in the lives of the men
and women within the body of Christ. BLESSED TRINITY outlines these
themes and boldly shows the power of God to overcome and conquer.
Every thing isn’t always what it seems. Gone is the phrase “what you see
is what you get” when you examine the main character of Faith. She
appears to be a genuine young lady who has achieved much in her life and
is not willing to allow anyone to step into her path. She is the head of
her household and she holds strong her position within the house of
three. But the author aptly shows that by the power of God strongholds
are broken down and people can be set free from the ravages of their
past and the controlling influences of the past. It is excellent for one
to have faith, but as the Word declares, faith, hope, charity but the
greatest of these is charity.
Pastor George Landris is back! Bigger and better than he has ever been
before! Always a man of faith, he continues to listen to the voice of
God rather than the cries of man. He believes God has sent him on a
mission and no matter how rocky the road has become; no matter the
stumbling blocks placed in his way; like Paul he declares, “I believe
God!” It is that believe that enables him to become the warrior in his
battles, he ultimately shows that the battle is not ours but it is
God’s. A powerful character whom the author uses to show how man is
blessed when he obeys God.
Not to be left out is Johnnie Mae. Her relational struggles with her
siblings continue but now this character has grown from strength to
strength. As she grows she is able to encourage her husband, showing the
reader that a relationship build on Godly foundation is the best
relationship to pursue. Her struggles extends to her mother and
decisions that must be made for the good of her health, they include her
in capabilities and how they can be overcome but as she stands on the
word of God she gains the blessing and the victory.
Using this intriguing story line the author also outlines the
psychological disorder of bipolar. This was excellently incorporated and
provided a guide to the reader of the symptoms and treatment of this
disorder. This inclusion added to the mysterious side of the novel and
helps to add to the suspense within.
An excellent rendition, superb writing skills! Vanessa continues to get
better with each new edition to her hall of blessings!
