SYNOPSIS:  A woman who had sacrificed her personal happiness by dedicating the last decade of her life to becoming a music star, must come to terms with her past in order to find peace, in this emotionally compelling tale.

CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE |4| Marguerite Lemons

REVIEW:  Tara Russell is at the top of the entertainment world, with hit records, numerous fans and a life that most people would envy. She’s also extremely unhappy, because she has made the sacrifice of a lifetime when she gave her child up for adoption at birth. Now all she wants to know is if she made the right decision and if her child is okay. Tara would never have imagined the ensuing fallout that happens when she decides to find her child. She discovers the bullets her best friend took were meant for her, but she has no clue who would want her dead or that her family has betrayed her in the worst way.

BLUE INTERLUDE takes place in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Antonio, South Carolina and Las Vegas. Tara is an R&B singer, who doesn’t have many friends, because she’s learned never to trust anyone. Quinton Ellis is the hottest record producer in the business and he happens to be Tara’s best friend. They both have hidden secrets and want the best for each other, but just when it seems as if they may have found what they are looking for…trouble ensues. Both characters have had difficult times and have strained relationships with family members. Their families and other characters sometimes offer sage advice, but at other times, they are the problem. There is an intriguing plot twist and several overdue reconciliations.

Ms. Mennefee has written a page turner that makes you wonder what may really be going on in the real lives of some of our R&B stars. I enjoyed this story.
