REVIEW: Dave Mitchell started a thriving business to serve the people of God and a family with Madeline. The ministry strived and grew under his leadership. Things in seemed to be going fine until their marriage and family is destroyed when he succumbs to the admiration of his secretary.

His first family never fully recovers from the betrayal and abandonment they feel because of Dave’s new wife and child. Two children are lost to their father and one wounded despite the attempt to continue to build a relationship with him. Naming his youngest child as the successor to his company sends the wives into a terrible war and his eldest son across the ocean.

CHOSEN is a strong bible based fiction story. The correlation to the biblical story of David and Solomon is very clean. The characters are true to life and well developed though sometimes their inner dialogue becomes repetitive. This slows the story down at times but not enough to stop the pace from working for the story. Description and setting are very well placed and paint a picture of each characters surroundings. This in addition to well written dialogue makes it easy to look past the minor pacing and redundant character moments. Overall the story works well and pulls you in as these two families battle themselves and each other to find their place in the world and each other’s lives.
