Mystery, adventure and passion are the order of the day in Marcia King-Gamble’s latest offering, COME
FALL.
As love often does, it finds the book's hero and heroine at the most unlikely juncture in their lives. Having walked in on a
conversation that puts her dangerously close to uncovering corporate deception, Vivanne Baxter quickly finds her life spinning out of control.
Charged with sexual harassment, her job at the not-for-profit agency where she works as a renowned spokesperson is taken away from her.
Fleeing the scandal that leaves her both unemployed and disgraced, Vivanne finds herself camping out in Venice. It is there that Vivanne
encounters a sexy, suspended FBI agent, Sage Medino, who has quite a few problems of his own.
Unfortunately for Vivanne, her problems do not remain behind in the States and she finds herself prey to one mishap after
another. Gentleman that he is, Sage more than happily steps up to fulfill the role of Vivanne’s knight in shining armor. And what woman
doesn’t want a hero? Especially when that hero comes with “smoldering coal” eyes and a “well-muscled” body.
As Sage plays the role of protector for Vivanne, readers are allowed to watch their feelings for each other blossom under very
strenuous circumstances. At the same time, Ms. King-Gamble gives readers a sort of two-for-one special as she allows them to watch the
budding romance of the young woman Sage was hired to be a bodyguard for, Maya Gabriel, and her street-smart artist friend, Alec Randolf.
Between Maya’s antics of asserting her independence and Vivanne’s near fatal-accidents, COME FALL
races from one non-stop adventure to another. Ms. King-Gamble interweaves two beautiful romantic tales, while
keeping readers on the edge of their seats fearing for the safety of the characters they’ve grown to love. Along with this, she maintains
balance, never allowing one part of the story to overpower the other. Readers will have no trouble developing empathy for each of the
couples' individual
situations, as they are allowed an in-depth enough look at both couples to make them and their romances believable..
Despite the fast paced adventure of COME FALL, Ms. King-Gamble gives a detailed enough description
of Venice that readers are able to feel the beauty of the area. She paints Venice in such a way that readers will likely be tempted to call
their travel agents.
The book’s secondary characters also work well in the story, adding just the right mix of comedy and drama to make
COME FALL a bound-to-please favorite amongst readers. |
