CORPORATE SEDUCTION - A. C. Arthur

Genesis/Indigo

1-58571-238-8

January 2007

SYNOPSIS: Khalil Franklin has been hired to uncover who’s behind the recent rash of erotic emails being delivered to Page & Associates. But what he doesn’t count on finding is his ideal mate in the form of the very sexy and street savvy Reka Boyd. While Reka has sworn off men to work on her career, Khalil is definitely not willing to give up without a fight, no matter the obstacles in their way.

MAINSTREAM FICTION  |4| La-Tessa Montgomery

REVIEW:  The employees of Page & Associates are in a constant state of arousal due to erotic emails that keep popping up in everyone’s inbox. While the emails are the hot topic around the office, Reka Boyd is only mildly amused by the disruption, and inappropriate behavior they cause. Khalil Franklin, a private investigator, is brought in for the sole purpose of putting an end to the emails, and is immediately partnered with Reka to do so. Having made great strides to improve her quality of life, Reka is done with smooth talking, bad boys. Too bad for her that Khalil is the furthest thing from a b-boy there is. While working to catch their perpetrator, Khalil and Reka get caught up in one another, and unbeknownst to them, the madness that their union creates.

If you are looking for a sexy and romantic tale, CORPORATE SEDUCTION is your book. Reka and Khalil come from different walks of life; Reka being a street savvy beauty with a very smart mouth, and Khalil a polished brother from a privileged upbringing. I enjoyed the journey the leads take as they find each other and learn to trust both in themselves and their love. The seduction and love scenes are hot as well, made even more so by the sexual tension between the leads. I enjoyed the author’s writing style and how she handled the subplots in that they are kept in the proper perspective. They add to plot by creating suspense and some rather carnal obstacles to Reka and Khalil’s relationship.

The cast of secondary characters absolutely make this book. Character dynamics are spot on and they really added to my overall enjoyment of the story. Tacoma, Reka’s gay best friend, and Grammy, Reka’s oversexed grandmother, both add a touch of humor to the story. Between helping Tacoma plan his wedding, and being privy to some of Grammy’s antics, I could barely contain myself at times. On the darker side, Khalil’s mother and the leads ex’s really stoop to some all time lows in order to get what they want.

CORPORATE SEDUCTION is a great story, with a good mix of eclectic and memorable characters. I would definitely recommend it all. I’m telling you, Grammy really needs her own book!
