REVIEW:  Shelly London is an aerospace engineer whose lifelong goal is to become an astronaut. Lincoln “Lightning” Ripley is an astronaut whom everyone worships except Shelly. After being thrown together on a top secret project, Shelly and Lincoln (Linc) discover that they have a cosmic attraction that is out of this universe. With COSMIC RENDEZVOUS, Robyn Amos allows us to explore how love can evolve in the workplace as we follow Shelly and Linc on their romantic journey to love.

All her life Shelly has had one dream, to become an astronaut. She can’t for the life of her understand why she has been denied entry into the program not once, not twice, but three times. She has taken on the task of training facilitator for Draco, the spacecraft she has designed, in hopes that it will get her into the astronaut program. Linc has earned the reputation of “Lightning” as a result of a heroic move on his first trip into space. Normally all of the attention he receives as a result doesn’t bother him except now it seems to be stopping him from his one personal goal, getting close to Shelly. Linc can’t figure out when or how Shelly got under his skin and his views on relationships starts to shift. He does know that Shelly is his soul mate and he will do everything in his power to make sure that she stays in his life.

The supporting characters help add to the story line. The dialogue is constant and helps keep the story moving. The main setting for the story is Houston. The setting changes several times to other space stations; as well as, Washington, D.C. The changes in setting are necessary to the plot of the story and allow the reader a glimpse into the many changes that take place for spacecrafts and their crew. Ms. Amos takes the time to educate the reader about spacecrafts but the information is not too detail oriented that the reader becomes bored.

Robyn Amos has another hit on her hands with
COSMIC RENDEZVOUS. I would definitely recommend this novel. It’s a great read for anyone looking for a good romance novel. It is unique in the sense that it explores a career field that we don’t normally hear too much about in African American Romance novels.
