PLOT SYNOPSIS:

REVIEW:

I love anthologies, especially those with a holiday theme.  CUPID’S ARROW is like a lovely little box of Godiva Chocolates ready for the sampling!  It was a real treat to read "Maleka and the Sheik" by Layle Giusto, Doris Johnson’s "A Passionate Moment", and Jacquelin Thomas’ "Heart to Heart".

In "Maleka and the Sheik" we get international intrigue as young designer Maleka Darling finds herself going from the middle of  the Paris fashion industry to exotic Morocco to help her mother’s friend settle an old debt.  The fact that she is at odds with the friend’s handsome, aristocratic son the entire time is like a crunchy pecan praline enrobed in velvety milk chocolate.

"A Passionate Moment" is like the traditional cherry swimming in a lovely liqueur and covered with sweet dark chocolate.   Verna Sinclair, a nurse by vocation and an expert craftsperson by avocation, turned her back on romance after the tragic death of her fiance.  Love, she reasoned, does not strike twice in a lifetime.  And even if it could, she did not think she could learn to love again.  But when gentle, handsome Dan Hunter takes one look at her, he knows she is the only one to hold the key to his heart and his happiness.

I want to be impartial here, but "Heart to Heart" is like a yummy, meltingly delicious Godiva raspberry truffle—smooth, rich and satisfying.  Jacquelin Thomas was kind enough to grace us with more of the fascinating Ransom family.   This time Jillian Ransom is tempted into love with family friend John Sanders.  John has had disastrous marriages before—two of them!—but he has always known that Jillian is the one for him, if only he can convince her of that fact.  In addition to a tasty and tender story of newly claimed love with Jillian and John, we get to visit with Carrie and Ray Ransom and we get to know more about the tragic disappearance of Kaitlin Ransom.  Note:  if you have not read Ms Thomas’ other books, do so at once!  This lady has a romantic dynasty about to unfold and you do not want to miss out!!!

So there you have it; a box full of chocolates and not a pound gained!  Thank you ladies and thank you Arabesque…but I see a lone little chocolate heart over there that I think has my name on it….Happy Valentine’s Day!!!!

4 bon-bons for CUPID’S ARROW!
