REVIEW: DESTINATION LOVE is Gwynne Forster latest tale of love and revenge. Professor Sheri Stephens was trying to prove herself as an equal professor when she pointed out a minor omission in a doctoral candidate’s dissertation that prevented him from marching with his class. Dalton Wright Hobart has never forgiven or forgotten Professor Stephens and how her unwillingness to bend caused his parents not to see him graduate and him missing out on the job opportunity of a lifetime. When Dalton runs into Sheri on a Nova Scotia cruise and realizes that she doesn’t recognize him, he plans the ultimate revenge. He never counts on falling head over heels in love with Sheri. Can the two of them learn to forgive and forget or will their past mistakes keep them from a happily ever after future?

Professor Sheri Stephens is a highly intelligent woman who was raised in a home where academics was encouraged but emotions were never nourished. As a result Sheri is incapable of interacting with others on a social level and lacks the ability to show empathy to others. During the cruise, Sheri realizes this fact and begins to take drastic changes in her life. Part of this is due to her budding relationship with Wright. Dalton is determined to get revenge on the woman who was single handedly responsible for his missing out on so much in life. As he leads Sheri on, he discovers that there is a shy, novice, woman inside who is looking to learn about who she is and what she can become. When the perfect moment presents itself, Salton realizes that he lacks the heart to go through with his plan because Sheri has stolen his heart. He knows that he has to tell her the truth about who he is, but he can’t risk loosing her. When the truth spurs its ugly head, can Dalton convince Sheri that he’s a changed man. As they embark on a second cruise together, Dalton and Sheri work and search desperately inside themselves to find if they have the love that will last a lifetime.

The story begins in Boston. The setting changes as they cruise to Nova Scotia, and the Mediterranean. The dialogue moves smoothly. The supporting characters add to the complexity of the story.

DESTINATION LOVE is a good read.  It definitely fits into the themes that are often found in Gwynne Forster’s novels
