REVIEW:  Parris Mitchell, media proclaimed R&B Diva is 32 years old and dealing with a great deal of loss. The man she loved and trusted, took her for not only her love but most of her money and her self-esteem. Only her diehard fans and her agent have hung in there with her. Casper Johnson, is one of the hottest record producers in the industry and he is going to produce Parris' next CD. Even though Parris said no in the beginning, she decides to go ahead and work with Casper. Parris tries to deny the attraction she feels towards Casper; one because she feels men cannot be trusted and two; she's just a little older than Mr. Johnson. Casper has to work overtime not only producing her CD but gaining her trust and winning her heart.

Set in the R&B music industry, DOUBLE PLATINUM flows like the music it describes. The story covers all aspects and all occupations relating to music production. From the artist to the producer, the agent, singing rivals and even the tabloid reporter.  You are introduced to the designer clothes and all of the places where the privileged go to play. You are also taken to the darker side where greed and desire for fame can destroy.

DOUBLE PLATINUM, is excellent reading for the up and coming artist. The story lets you see what can happen if you put your trust in someone who will tell you what you want to hear and when you want to hear it to gain your trust. They turn you against the people who worked hard to get you where you are and then they commit the ultimate act of betrayal and take all of you money and your self-esteem. It makes the job of people who you can trust difficult because you feel that everyone is out to use you for your fame and your fortune. Sheila Goss does a great job and DOUBLE PLATINUM should be on the required reading list for new music artists.
