PLOT SYNOPSIS:

REVIEW:

Caroline Duval is an attractive school teacher. Prim and proper, this New Englander does a favor for a friend because of her giving and loyal personality.

Derek Roberts operates a successful security installation with his beloved brother in Atlanta, Georgia.

Caroline’s favor is to help out one of her friends by working at a tutoring program at an Atlanta-based community center. Unbeknownst to her, Derek volunteers at the same program.

To say that she is shocked is an understatement because she had finally gotten over him after she’d broken off their relationship six years ago-- or so she thinks. Learning that her beloved Derek was engaged to another woman was too much for Caroline to take, so she did what she had to do.

EVERYTHING TO GAIN is a classic story of miscommunication between lovers, but it’s done in a refreshingly interesting way. This fast-paced story is intriguing and will keep readers wondering if the couple will ever find their way back together. All of the characters are realistic, believable and very enjoyable. In fact, Tyner crafted them so well that they seem just like anyone’s friendly neighbors next door.

This novel has an old-fashioned, down-to-earth feel, but don’t be fooled because Tyner flips the proverbial script and writes in some seriously steamy love scenes. Caroline is a lady when it counts, but lets out her “bad girl persona” in the boudoir when it comes to getting her man.

EVERYTHING TO GAIN is a wonderful book that must be read. It’s a rare gem that one doesn’t expect by its seemingly tame storyline. There’s some pretty sultry stuff going on beneath the surface--and that makes for a great reading experience.
