PLOT SYNOPSIS:

REVIEW:

Jacquelin Thomas is one of the most versatile romance writers around, and FAMILY TIES is proof of that.  You never know what you’re in for when you pick up one of her books; they cover a wide range of events, situations and personalities and they are always riveting.  Although I am still waiting on a particular book to materialize dealing with a certain missing woman...but we won’t go into that here.  Let’s talk about her latest offering and leave it at that.  For now.  And ironically enough, this is another revenge book!  But there is so much more to it than that…

Dr. McKenzie Ashford has a lot of reason to seek work at a major Pharmaceutical company.  It is the leader in its field, the position offers money, prestige and a chance to do some really good work.  There is every reason in the world that she should pursue a job with Chandler Pharmaceuticals.  Not the least of which is the fact that Marc Chandler is the man responsible for her mother’s death.

Marc Chandler has no reason not to hire Dr. Mackenzie Ashford.  She is brilliant, highly qualified and just what his company’s research department needs.  There is no question that she is the best qualified for the position.  Turning down her application would be utterly foolhardy, she is the perfect candidate.  Except for the small fact that she is the most beautiful, desirable woman he has ever seen and the mere sight of her sends his senses reeling.

Eventually, common sense wins over passion and both Marc and McKenzie get what they want… but as someone once said, you must be careful what you wish for…

Even though I never like the idea of someone deliberately going after someone else for revenge, this book caught me up and I couldn’t put it down until the last page.  Ms Thomas took the classic revenge motif and wove it into a superb mystery with some real twists that kept me turning pages faster and faster.

Intelligent dialogue, sizzling love scenes and a fascinating roster of characters made this a must-read, must-recommend book for the summer.  Hint:  Take the title literally because these Family Ties are amazing.  And that’s all I’m saying, except to say that if you are a fan of Ms Thomas, you will love this.  If you have not had the pleasure of one of her books, by all mean, start with FAMILY TIES and you will be buying up her previous books as fast as possible!
