PLOT SYNOPSIS:

REVIEW:

When you get ready for a Caribbean cruise, don’t call your travel agent--just pick up a copy of Raynetta Mañees’ FANTASY and you will be on your way.  The accommodations are first class, the ambiance is romantic and the journey is satisfying. So satisfying, in fact, that I am thinking about petitioning BET to make sure this book is made into a movie!  Ms Mañees outdid herself with FANTASY;  this is a book you will not want to miss.

Sameerah Clark is a talented, gorgeous, voluptuous vocalist who boards the luxury ship Fantasy thinking that she is the ship’s headliner.  When it turns out that her dizzy cousin, a dancer, has actually gotten her a job as a back-up singer for Tony Harmon, Sameerah is less than thrilled.  But she is above all else, a professional and rises to the occasion. Which isn’t too difficult when she meets Tony and there is an unmistakable attraction.

Tony Harmon is on his way to St. Thomas and the comeback concert of a lifetime. But he is not so immersed in his career that he does not recognize the rare jewel that is Sameerah.  She could be the one to put his demons to rest and bring a beautiful harmony to his life. That is, if he can persuade her to trust her heart after their love is jeopardized by a jealousy and deceit from an unexpected source.

Ms. Mañees has written a wonderful story that you won’t want to put down. The characters are fresh, lively and real, especially the secondary cast who move the story along in a lively fashion.  She puts in enough details to make the story authentic and appealing without losing the essence of the romance--I really got the island ‘flava’ from her descriptions.  She also has a knack for dialogue that rings true with a delicious dash of humor.

The most important aspects of any romance are the heroine and hero-- and Ms. Mañees has given us a sexy, hot couple whose passion is unmistakable and unforgettable.  I loved Sameerah for her big heart, her big talent and, quite frankly, her big hips;  I love it when someone shows how desirable and seductive the full-figured sister can be!  And Tony is sincere, grounded, gorgeous and devoted--he is a most satisfying mate for the lovely Sameerah.  And the cover is just wonderful--the lovely model is a knockout!

This is definitely a rare romance for the characters, the plot, the locale and the overall flavor--a delightful and memorable trip to paradise! The title is very apropos; it is definitely the place where island dreams and thoughts of love unite; a place called FANTASY!
