REVIEW: Alexa Kirkwood never believed she would get another chance with the one man she loved and then left behind nine years ago, but has never forgotten. When she returns to her childhood home to stand up for her best friends as they renew their vows, Alexa comes face to face with Darius Riverside and all the old feelings, which have never fully died.

Alexa and Darius discuss the past and their pains, and hope that they can move forward together. With a second chance at love, theirs becomes a whirlwind romance and they realize that, this time, they will hold onto one another as never before. But the path to love and happiness proves difficult for Alexa once again, as she is forced to choose between the love of her life and the job that she has always put above all else.

FINALLY, YOU AND ME by Lisa Harrison Jackson is a refreshing tale of love, pride, spiritual faith and second chances. The wealth of love and graceful words that Ms. Jackson pens in this tale, transfix the reader from the get-go. The characters are realistic and easy to connect with on all levels. In this tale of hard choices, Alexa re-examines her life and everything that she has believed in all of her adult life. Not only does Alexa reconnect with Darius, but she also communicates and embraces the relationship she has with her mother. Growing up, watching her mother’s sadness and discontentment with her marriage to Alexa’s father, Alexa vowed to never lose herself in marriage and to follow her career.

Darius is a confident and strong man who loves one woman above all else. He and Alexa are such an enchanting couple that the readers will feel their pain and sadness to the soul. Their love for each other has its ups and downs, but I could feel their commitment to one another, despite the hard journey they must take to find their way.

I hope FINALLY, YOU AND ME won’t be the last book by Ms. Jackson that I can enjoy. This author has the ability to capture love, second chances, faith and honor beautifully and make the reader really think about what is even important in their own lives. I found myself pondering my own life choices and those that Alexa had to face. Reading this story non-stop was energizing and moving. FINALLY, YOU AND ME is a story that can be read over and over and never become old or repetitive. Readers of contemporary fiction can find everything they enjoy about romance in this story.
