Opportunity knocks, giving Trevor a chance to settle the score with his old college nemesis, through the other man's fiancé. Tiffany Hatcher is a highly sought after party coordinator and the daughter of the Governor. When she plans a secret bachelorette party in Las Vegas, to include a stripper named "The Fireman," things go from hot to scorching...fast.

CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE |4+ Marguerite Lemons

REVIEW:  Trevor Lewis has been plotting revenge for the last five years on the man who murdered his best friend; and now he has his chance thanks to his aunt.  Tiffany Hatcher, the governor’s daughter, has been by her father’s side since the death of mother when she was twelve.  She is known in the political arenas and Virginia as the party planner extraordinaire who would never do anything to embarrass herself, or her father.  Trevor and Tiffany meet in Las Vegas, at a bachlorette party that she is giving for one of her friends.  Their attraction to each other is immediately evident, but both consciously decide to forgo a relationship because Tiffany cannot be caught with a male stripper and Trevor is too busy plotting the next stage of his revenge.  Unfortunately, they both get drunk and meet up again at one of the casinos, and when the alcohol wears off, Tiffany awakens naked and married to a man she knows nothing about.  The two part ways and Tiffany hopes that what happens in Vegas truly stays there.

FIRE AND DESIRE is a tale of two people whose hearts realize they are soul mates long before their owners can admit it.  This story also speaks to the old adage of never judging a book by its cover.  Tiffany takes one look at Trevor and assumes that he is just a male stripper and nothing more.  Trevor looks at Tiffany as a way to get the upper hand on a nemesis instead of a human being with feelings.  I enjoyed the fact that the author pointed out that although they married for the wrong reasons, neither Trevor nor Tiffany can bring themselves to actually file for the divorce, so their subconscious has a way of forcing them to eventually realize their hearts desire.  Tiffany’s father and best friend helps her see the truth in her actions by carefully pointing out the positive changes she has made since meeting Trevor.  I applaud the way the author has Trevor come clean after the truth comes out, and the fact that Tiffany is able to see his redeeming qualities through her pain.

Ms. Lamont has written a great love story.
