PLOT SYNOPSIS:

REVIEW:

This is the maiden voyage of Rochunda Lee, a new Arabesque writer.  I predict that this will be the first of many by this talented newcomer.  Ms Lee possesses a unique voice and brings a very fresh and contemporary voice to her writing.  FOR LOVE'S SAKE is a unique look at love in the workplace, something that many of us will or have experienced on some level.  In the 90’s and certainly going forward, the workplace has taken the place of the community.  As much as we try to avoid it, workplace dating is becoming more and more common.

Tonya Locksley, however, wasn’t looking to date anyone, at least not at Freeman and Reynolds.  All she wanted to do was climb the corporate ladder by putting her law degree to good use.  She had suffered through a horrible breakup with her boyfriend and was not looking to jump back into the fire.  And certainly not with one of the founders of the firm!  But when she and Dexter Freeman met, it was obvious that there was an explosive chemistry between them.

Dexter, too, had been badly burned.  His marriage ended for reasons that he would not discuss, especially with his father.  But his father was determined to get Dexter reunited with his ex-wife, even though Dexter had stopped loving her long ago.  Besides, Dexter’s mind was on one woman only—Tonya.  The feelings he had for her surpassed anything he had ever known.  But would his love be enough to keep Tonya by his side after his father weaves a fabric of lies that ensnare them both?

Tonya and Dexter’s situation is one that more and more people are facing everyday.  Coping with the dynamics of love in the workplace while still being professional and productive is something that a lot of career women will be able to say “Amen” to.  Tonya is one very cool lady, I have to admit—she had one zinger after another shot her way and she still managed to maintain her equilibrium.  And Dexter’s heart was always in the right place.  It took him a while to figure out the right thing, but his love for Tonya gave him the determination to put it all together.

With crisp, modern dialogue and a fast-paced plot, Ms Lee has given birth to a couple you can’t help but cheer for and a story you will love.  Don’t get this one just FOR LOVE'S SAKE—get it for your own sake.  “Cause people will be talking about this one and you don’t want to be left out!
