PLOT SYNOPSIS:

REVIEW:

FOREVER LOVE is the story of two highly independent and headstrong persons must battle their need for total control to realize a deep and everlasting love.  Leah Ellis has experienced the rich, take control, domineering fiancé already.  Been there, done that, not interested in doing that again.  Having barely survived that experience, and gone on to become an independent woman focused on helping her fellowman, the last thing she needs in her life is another domineering male controlling her life in the name of love.  In fact, just to make sure it never happens again, Leah studiously avoids all men.

Gerald Morris is handsome, affluent, powerful, confident, sensuous and domineering.  Despite her initial rejection, Gerald persists in his pursuit of Leah, confident that the deep attraction he feels cannot ultimately be one-sided. Unprepared for Gerald's onslaught, Leah succumbs to his irresistible charm and her own intense attraction for him. But not before taking Gerald on a glorious emotional, tension-ridden ride.

The relationship is not, however, a smooth one. Two such dominant personalities are bound to clash, and clash they do. When Leah finds herself being threatened and in danger, Gerald feels duty-bound to protect his woman.

Leah, on the other hand, determined to maintain her independence and individuality, rebels strongly against Gerald's high-handed, strong-arm techniques. Their indisputable need to be together forces them both to learn the art of compromise giving their love a chance to bloom and grow.

Together they face many challenges that include an irate, drug-dealing ex-fiancé bent on reconciliation, an envious sister, a back-stabbing colleague

and a 'deserting' father. Break-ins, theft, threats, shootings, family reunions, attempted hostile take-overs along with some of the most incredibly romantic liaisons, round out the drama.

FOREVER LOVE is a constant flow of action. There is never a dull moment in this story. I felt that there may have been just a little too much action which tended to distract somewhat from the main story - that of the relationship between Gerald and Leah. There are so many secondary characters playing various roles and going through so many experiences, at one point it was difficult keeping track of them all. The story was almost like a mini soap opera, without the bad acting.

I also felt that I was left hanging with some of the secondary stories, such as the developing relationship between Merri and Tony, as well as that between Ja'Nise and Peter. For example, during the story there appears to be some kind of impasse between Ja'Nise and Peter. The impasse appears to be resolved by the end of the story, but the reader is not privy to exactly how that happened. I must also admit I was a bit turned off at first, by Gerald's extreme persistence at the start. As the story progresses however, one cannot help but warm up to him as his intentions are pure and he sure knows how to romance a girl! There's only one word to describe those scenes -WOW!

FOREVER LOVE is the second Indigo novel for Ms. Wanda Y. Thomas. Ms. Thomas has created two very real and memorable characters in Leah and Gerald. They have some obvious strengths and flaws to which most readers should be able to relate. The to and fro in their relationship is scintillating. The fact that I got annoyed with them both at various points in the story just goes to show how much I was able to identify with them in the story. All in all FOREVER LOVE is a pretty good read. Romance lovers won't be disappointed.
