REVIEW:
Detective Jaclyn Mason, of the Atlanta Police Department, world is turned upside
down after witnessing the death of her partner. Desperate to solve her partner’s
murder, Jaclyn turns to her partner’s best friend, Brad Williams for help and
support. Passions ignite as the two grow closer and the mystery continues to
unravel.
FORGET ME NOT takes place in various locations in Atlanta, with the
settings described in such a way, that it was truly the location and not a
character in the book. The situations the characters were placed in are
realistic and relevant to the story line. With Brad as the male interest in the
story, his character was a little more mysterious and left you wondering just
what part he played in the looming case.
FORGET ME NOT has a well thought out story line. The underlying drama of
Jaclyn's overprotective brother and power hungry ex husband, feeds into the
story line. I was reminded of the lengths that family will go through in the
name of protecting your interest. The mixture of romance, drama, and police
corruption makes for an interesting story.
I loved this book because it went beyond the normal plot of a romance novel with
the unfolding drama of the murder and investigation. Ms. Byrd captures your
interest from the first scene and keeps you enthralled to the end. I found
myself trying to solve the case and figure out the identity of the Shadow as I
read along.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants a romance novel with a little more
than what a traditional plot offers. I recommend taking the time to read this
book and digest all of the details as the case unfolds.
