REVIEW:
Sabrina Desdune is an ex-marine, back home to help run her brother’s business.
Her first assignment is to guard Lorenzo “Renny” Bennet, the millionaire
family’s youngest son. Caught between a rock and hard plate, Sabrina must keep
things professional and not walk into that trap called love. Lorenzo Bennett has
always walked to his own tune with everything he does. How ironic when told his
bodyguard is this little doe-eyed beauty; he knows firsthand he is in for a rude
awakening.
Ms. Arthur introduces two immeasurably gifted characters. Sabrina is petite,
gorgeous, and good at investigating and figuring people out. Her first
impression of Lorenzo is that he is an arrogant playa. Deceived once before,
Sabrina is in no mood for drama. Harboring a secret and guarding, Renny is
making her job harder and harder, especially when she finds the attraction
unbearable. She knows that you shouldn’t mix business with pleasure, but telling
her libido that is another story. Sabrina doesn’t back down for anyone including
some of Renny’s female friends. The girl has skills and will take you out in a
minute. I really liked that about her. Renny is sexy, handsome and has a
reputation with women. He is very talented with his hands and the art he creates
with his skills is intoxicating. He doesn’t back down for anyone, including his
family. His strong attitude is what I admired about him. A man with skills in
every department? Well, Renny could be that man, and I know women that would say
clone him.
GUARDING HIS BODY's plot keeps the story progressing and the pace is
perfect. It gives you time to absorb everything without getting confused about
it. The scenes involving Renny’s art are hot and steamy. Visualizing those
sculptures will make you blush for sure. Ms. Arthur does an excellent job on
connecting the characters, the plot, and the love scenes. She definitely has a
gift for this. I had to go back and peek at those scenes again. The secondary
characters brought energy like the energizer bunny. Reading novels that have
large family members opens up a good start for connecting stories. I enjoyed
seeing Trent Donavon again. I really enjoyed the Bennett and Desdune family.
This should become a series, because there are so many characters that could
have their own story.
Bravo, Ms. Arthur on a job well done. You deserve your props for this.
GUARDING HIS BODY is a must read and I can only hope that a series comes out
of this.
