REVIEW:
The hits keep
coming with renowned author Brenda Jackson penning yet another hit,
Hot Westmoreland Nigts.
Ramsey Westmoreland is in a pickle because his crew cook has to leave for a
family emergency. He’s left with no choice but to hire a temp. Magazine owner,
Chloe Burton knows Ramsey would be perfect for her special issue and rides out
to his ranch to persuade him. Ramsey mistakes Chloe for the cook and immediately
sets her to work. At first Chloe tries to tell Ramsey she is not the cook but
eventually Chloe sees it as the perfect opportunity convince him to do the
interview. Ramsey soon finds himself enjoying more than Chloe’s creations in the
kitchen. Chloe also realizes Ramsey is not only perfect for the cover he is
perfect for her too. As the assignment draws to a close Chloe decides to come
clean but unfortunately, Ramsey learns the truth before she tells him. A very
bitter Ramsey wonders who is the woman sharing his bed and has stolen his heart.
A defiant Chloe insists to be heard before being dismissed. It’s left up to
Ramsey to recognize that despite Chloe’s deception her feelings for him are
real.
I liked Hot Westmoreland Nigts as
the author gets right into the thick of things. Chloe and Ramsey’s introduction
is humorous and the rest of the story is one entertaining incident after
another.
Like many Westmoreland men Ramsey has a strong love for his family, yet he
doesn’t desire a family of his own until he meets Chloe. Chloe is the perfect
match for Ramsey because she is a strong yet sensitive woman who is not afraid
of hard work. Ramsey can be caustic but Chloe takes no bull. What’s more, their
dialogue is spirited and just plain hot. These two are equals on every level.
The majority of the story is set on Ramsey’s farm in Denver. The setting works
well in bringing the story to life. Interesting details are given on the ins and
outs of rearing sheep.
Hot Westmoreland Nigts is one of
those novels you know you’ll enjoy because the author always writes great novels
but then you discover a little something more that makes this story that much
more special because you end up falling in love with the characters. Ramsey and
Chloe’s story is like that for me. I can’t say enough how entertaining
Hot Westmoreland Nigts is and readers are
in for a good time with this one. I’m already looking forward to reading the
novel again.
