~ Review: Just Can't Get Enough ~ |
SYNOPSIS: Both down—home sweet and seductive, Cheris Hodges's new novel is about breaking the rules, going back home... and finding more than your heart's desire... CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE |4| Tricia-Ann Blades REVIEW: Sensuous, passionate and thrilling is the novel Just Can’t Get Enough by Cheris Hodges. As one turns the pages, one becomes caught by in the rhythm of love as it unfolds from the least expected places. Not only do you feel that rhythm, but the beat of the drum sounds, as a woman scorned adds to the music and the themes of infidelity and forgiveness brings the music to a crescendo. Infidelity is never an easy theme to deal with. It is recognized that infidelity can damage the strongest of souls causing pain and disappointment, where only love and peace should abide. Children are often the most affected and as a result are unable to function effectively in their lives or in their relationships as they reach maturity. Such was the case of Celina Hart, a passionate woman, whose art reflects her sensuous and loving nature, is bound by the infidelities of the past. Love unexpected but true presents itself. It is a thrilling experience but caution prevails and instead of giving her all Celina holds back. It is only when she Is able to forgive the first man in her life is she able to love the unexpected. A man cautious, yet willing to hold, a man not prone to commit due to the pain it causes, yet willing to love, a man of many contradictions, yet willing to overcome. This aptly describes Darius. He is drawn to Celina as if he was answering destiny’s call. Not willing to play fair he pulls out all the stops to ensure she is free and willing to fly with him on the wings of love. His success is short-lived as his past intrudes and the author uses this to add suspense to this beautiful rendition. Darius must repair the damage and show beyond a shadow of a doubt, that his love is for real. Tiffany creates the suspense all good novels needs, she is the woman scorned or so she believes, she is willing to go through any means necessary to get her man, but is it really worth it when the man doesn’t want you? Rena, Thomas and John add to the excellent characterization, it is through them that the author shows the power of forgiveness and the healing power of love. A great many lessons can be learnt here. An excellent read! reviewer@romanceincolor.com | 20th October 2007
