Angela Winters has definitely got the touch. KNOW BY HEART is an excellent romantic suspense novel that lives up to its genre. This story is full of romance and intrigue. Escaping from the big city and a bad relationship, Jessie Grant moves to the Silicon Valley, takes a job as a community reporter for the local paper, then finds herself caught up in a murder investigation. Cole Nicolson is a hardworking and talented executive for a successful computer software company. He has put his heart and soul into a new software application guaranteed to change the computer world and make him the new CEO of NetStyles. Although their paths have crossed on many occasions, they have never spoken. Both have been secretly fantasizing about the other for months. The death of Jessie’s classmate Sabrina, ruled a suicide, forces them together in a tale of murder, lies, and scandal. Why would a woman planning her dream vacation to a tropical island suddenly commit suicide? Jessie discovers that Sabrina was investigating NetStyles and it’s current CEO. She was in possession of confidential files that could put the company at risk. Her journalistic instinct kicks in and she finds herself in the middle of a murder mystery. Determined to protect his pet project, Cole sets out to uncover the secret behind the missing files. He discovers that they’re in Jessie possession. In order to get them back, they make a pact. He agrees to give her an exclusive interview for the newspaper if she returns the files. But it wouldn’t end there, against his best judgment, he finds himself helping Jessie uncover the mystery behind Sabrina’s death. Each with their own motivation, together Jessie and Cole set out to find the truth behind Sabrina’s murder. As they unravel the secrets, lies, and scandal they discover a true passion. This novel of suspense and romance has a something for everyone. The elements of mystery and intrigue and a few plot turns here and there had me hooked from the start. I found myself guessing at the ending. I didn’t put this book down until I discovered the truth. Ladies, throw the “computer nerd” stereotype out of the window. Cole Nicolson breaks the mold. This man is confident, sexy, and determined. Add in a spicy, smart and sexy female and you got the makings of an addicting love story. KNOW BY HEART is a fun and exciting novel. Angela Winters has created another winner. This talented writer will always be on my “must-buy” list. |
