CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE |4| Anamaria Akins

REVIEW:  LOVE IS FOR KEEPS, a sequel to Ms. Norfleet's REFLECTION OF YOU, is a sensual, sizzling, dramatic story of opposites attracting and both finding balance despite their differences. Brandy Parker is a twenty-eight year old financial manager carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. She is not satisfied with her job; nor is she satisfied with her love life, caring for her ill mother, and being responsible for her smart, rebellious sixteen year old brother Kevin Reins, who always seems to attach himself to trouble. Sexy club owner and confirmed bachelor Roberto Santos is labeled as the love-em-and-leave-em type of guy. He is shielding a hidden secret. A secret that could tear his family apart. Roberto and Brandy come together because of chance meeting, and immediately the sexual chemistry comes to the surface as if it were a bomb ready to explode.

The pace of the story is extremely well crafted. The unfolding of scenes as well as the presentation of settings (the island oasis on top of Club Phoenix, the sandy beaches and topaz colored water of Ponce, Puerto Rico) pulls the reader into the story making you feel the warm breeze of the ocean, all the way up to the final page of the book.

The personalities of the characters are very realistic in which they experience the same emotions and questionable insecurities which are normal in everyday life. The presence of the supporting characters from the prequel REFLECTIONS OF YOU was an added surprise. The characters are interesting, and add dimension to the story on their own and in terms of how they relate to each other.

I recommend this book, as well as the prequel to anyone who wants to enjoy a good romance. Ms. Norfleet really went above and beyond with this one, not only did the author give her readers a good read, she also took them on a journey of self discovery. Celeste Norfleet really lived up to what was expected, a very good book.

I really enjoyed this book and anticipate Celeste O. Norfleet’s next novel.
