REVIEW:
Celeste O.
Norfleet and Mamma Lou are at it again in this latest installment of the Mamma
Lou Matchmaker series;
LOVE ME NOW.
Children clothing designer, Kenya Whitaker is determined to regain her father’s
lottery winnings she believes he lost in a deceptive investment scheme,
orchestrated by Trey Evans and his company. Kenya decides to seduce Trey in
order to gather information and expose him. Business maven, Trey Evans is
mystified by Kenya’s sudden appearance until he is made aware of her connection
to his company. The mystery is solved. Now if he could only solve his enigmatic
attraction to her as easily. Kenya’s poorly thought out plan begins to unravel
as she finds Trey nothing like the insensitive man she expected and quickly
falls for him. Torn between her heart and her family, Kenya chooses her family
and accesses confidential materials belonging to Trey. There is no turning back
as the gauntlet is thrown and war is declared. Trey wants to make love with
Kenya not war but he’s not about to lose everything he’s worked for even if it
might mean losing the woman he loves. The truth behind the lost winnings will
set Trey and Kenya free to love each other but only if comes in time.
LOVE ME NOW
starts off good, continues great and ends fantastically. There isn’t a moment
when the plot doesn’t manage to capture and hold ones attention. The characters
are so well-drawn they leap off the pages and become very real as the story
progresses. Kenya Whitaker is the protective daughter hell-bent on saving her
father and she is beautiful and bold. Trey has a somewhat dual personality as
far as his personal and professional life. The two parts blend to make a very
formidable but likeable man. Kenya and Trey make a harmonious balance despite
their different worlds. Mamma Lou as usual is a great character and very
impressive despite her seemingly diminutive stature. God Bless Colonel Wheeler
for sticking by her side because his patience is finally paying off.
Kenya and Trey’s first encounter is rip-roaringly hilarious and every
interaction thereafter is filled with humor or sensuality even when they are at
odds with each other.
Ms. Norfleet, as always, delivers stellar novels and
LOVE ME NOW
is no less. The story is interesting, engaging, and lighthearted although
sobering at times, and finally the characters are well-drawn and relatable. The
connection between Kenya and Trey is explosive and their love making burns the
pages. High praises to Celeste O. Norfleet for a story that has it all and then
some.
