REVIEW:
Karen Williams has never been a
big believer in fate. She’s fighting to make her neighborhood safer and is
determined to make it happen through volunteers and sponsors. When she first
sets eyes on Darius (D-Roc) Rollins the chemistry between the two of them cannot
be denied. Darius is on a mission and Karen is definitely headed for a
rollercoaster ride she’ll never forget.
Ms. Bolton continues to enlighten us with her talented writing in creating
characters that you can’t help enjoying. Karen Williams is a strong-willed woman
who knows her worth. She is an activist and she knows her community is
suffering, so she puts every effort into making a difference. Her determination
in doing this made me enjoy her character even more. Now Darius has some issues
with trusting people and you can’t blame him; being that he’s this celebrity
rapper who is known everywhere. These two are different as night and day, but
grew up in an environment they both wanted to escape from.
The plot in this story is a little different from Ms. Bolton’s other novels. She
added a twist of murder and mystery to the romance. Some mystery events had me
perplexed, but made the story exciting. Karen and Darius entertained with their
passion. The secondary characters, like Amina, portrayed a strong African woman.
Cullen (Darius’s manager) played the villain to a tee, along with Saul who
definitely had a secret agenda towards Karen. The old saying with friends like
these, who needs enemies, comes to mind.
Ms. Bolton definitely did a good job and I seriously recommend reading
MAKE IT LAST FOREVER.
