REVIEW: Janice Lace, aka Mary Jo Adams, is one of the hottest
African American author’s on the best sellers list; and she’s in a three
year, no-strings-attached, relationship with Simon Kohl. Simon, a
billionaire publishing magnate, champions the cause of anything dealing
with the African American culture due to his guilt over a family secret.
Simon should be happy that Janice has finally agreed to marry him, but
he can’t seem to leave the past dead and buried. He digs up more than he
can handle when he finds Janice’s ex-boyfriend, Tommy, and attempts to
buy him off to keep him away from Janice. Tommy feels that Janice is a
sell-out because of her relationship with Simon and the fact that her
books do not showcase African American males in a positive light. But of
course, he doesn’t think his past or present behavior has anything to do
with her views of the situation. Tommy is out to do whatever he can to
destroy Simon and Janice’s relationship, but Simon’s insecurities may
push Janice right back into Tommy’s arms. reviewer@romanceincolor.com | 10th September 2007
