SYNOPSIS:  When a beautiful network television journalist reports the murder of her best friend to a detective who wants to rule the death as a suicide, they work together to solve the case--and wind up falling in love.

CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE |4+| Marguerite Lemons

REVIEW:  Detective Steed McGraw has been working overtime since several of his co-worker’s quit the force leaving them short-handed. His commanding officer tells him that he is in line for a promotion, but the only way he can get it is if he can convince Darci Clarke that the homicide ruling in the death of Kenneth Warrick is correct. Darci Clarke is a well respected and thorough journalist intent upon getting answers regarding the death of her best friend, even if it means making good on her threat to do an expose’ on the Sterling Police Department. She shows up at the station to speak with the Detective in charge of the case, because she is positive that Kenneth would not kill himself. However, she never expected the intense attraction that she and Det. McGraw would have to each other. When Darci’s life almost comes to an end at the hands of a hit and run driver, Steed vows to find the culprit and make them pay.

Darci and Steed are both dealing with varying stages of grief. Darci can’t believe that her best friend would end his life, and Steed has lived the majority of his life wondering why his father was killed in the line of duty. Both need closure, but neither can have that until they know the truth.

NOT QUITE RIGHT is set in and around Sterling, NC. The plot moves along at a moderate pace with an array of characters who prod the characters at the right times, add intrigue and help them to sort out their feelings along the way.

Ms. Williams has written a great love story that is filled with intrigue. If you love romantic suspense, you will enjoy this book.
