REVIEW: Sinclair Dearheart is a Pet Psychiatrist.
Independent, educated and very self-sufficient. She feels her life is
fine just the way it is and isn't ready to open her heart again. Ben
Easington is a successful photo journalist who travels the world. When
his best friend Everette and his fiancé Sinclair's sister Roxie play
matchmaker, Ben has a "what's wrong with this one" attitude. They meet
and it's an instant and mutual attraction but a lack of self trust. On
their road to Romance, Sinclair's sister has a secret that causes her to
run away right after her wedding night to sanctuary with her father and
Jamaica. Sinclair and Ben both travel to Jamaica, she to support her
sister and Ben to support his best friend. Jamaica becomes the backdrop
for truth, resolution of past hurts and the beginning of something
wonderful.
PET DIVA FINDS LOVE maintains a ripple effect throughout. It
starts with a mutual attraction between Sinclair and Ben and spans out
to resolve issues being experienced by each character. The reader will
not only enjoy the realization of love between Sinclair and Ben but the
folly between the elder Dearheart's. You're never to old to admit you've
made a mistake.
Sinclair and Ben are examples of modern professional men and women
today. Educated, intelligent, and financially independent. Where they
both lack or falter is in the relationship department. Since both have
had bad outcomes from previous tries, they are not ready to open up for
hurt again. It takes an unplanned trip to Jamaica to allow each
character to push away the past and look to a future with each other.
The Island of Jamaica with its beautiful scenery, excellent food and
romantic overtures is the perfect place to realize love lost and love
found.
Janette McCarthy does an exceptional job with this story. The inclusion
of factual information that is the history of Jamaica along with the
beautiful description of the scenery and foods adds to the story's
ambiance. PET DIVA FINDS LOVE covers the effects of divorce not
only from the parent's view but it also shows the emotional scars that
are carried from childhood to adulthood. Unresolved issues that cause so
much pain can effect everyone involved. It shows that because of fear,
lack of communication and insecurity, we do things without thinking of
the consequences. We don't mean to hurt those we love but we do. The
true test of love is the patience we learn and the ability to forgive.
