REVIEW: The fourth novel in the Stallion series, PROMISES TO A STALLION, features the Stallion brother’s cousin, Staff Sergeant Travis Stallion. Staff Sergeant Stallion who happens to be on military leave from Afghanistan for thirty days unwittingly delivers a Dear Jane letter to one of his Privates fiancée, Tierra Braddy. Unbeknown to him, his and Tierra Braddy’s paths are destined to cross again in the span of a few hours. Tierra Braddy has fancied herself in love with her childhood crush forever even though she knows he’s more bad than good for her. After being dumped Tierra is not sure she can trust these strange feelings she has for Travis. Can Travis convince her that love at first sight does exist and that he is the only man she should spend the rest of her life with before he is to return to war?

Travis is absolutely smitten with Tierra. The only problem is that time is not on his side. He has thirty days to convince the recently dumped Tierra that true love does exist and he is worthy of her love. Tierra tries to downplay her attraction to Travis by viewing him as arrogant and annoying. Truth is she loves being around him because he will do anything to make her smile. Though she realizes that she is falling in love with Travis, she feels that everything is moving too fast and considering her recent situation, she’s not sure she can trust her judgment where men and love are concerned. As Travis’ time in the States dwindles, Tierra must take a leap of faith and put her trust in her feelings as well as with Travis’.

The supporting characters in this story contribute to the story line. The reader is reintroduced to the rest of the Stallions and how their lives are progressing. They provide insight based on their own experiences to the new couple. The dialogue is enchanting. The setting of the story is Dallas. There are parts of the story that take place in Austin.

PROMISES TO A STALLION is an excellent romance novel. I would recommend that you read TO LOVE A STALLION, TAME A WILD STALLION, and LOST IN A STALLION’S ARMS first, as they are the prequels to this novel. I can’t wait to read how the next Stallion will fall in love.
