SERIES ROMANCE |4| Keren Childers REVIEW: Organizing her 10-year class reunion has Ivy Jackson feeling like a schoolgirl again because her co-organizer is Kevin Slayton, her secret crush. Soon, Kevin's determined to make their love affair one for the books. Ms. Kitt introduces two of the most mismatched characters that I have read in awhile; only to realize that opposites do attract each other. Chloe Jackson has had a complicated life by far and still hides behind secrets that haunt her. Raised in foster care with little or no money, only made her more determined to achieve something in life. She went to college, received numerous awards and recognition and never looked back. She’s a strong-willed woman who takes charge and gets things done. Her character intrigued me a lot. Kevin Stayton attends college and becomes the most popular man on campus. He mistakes Chloe for someone else and after a brief conversation with her, disappears with a popular woman on campus. Chloe definitely has a crush on this man. Kevin you can tell has the charisma and appeal to succeed in life and 10 years later they all get the chance to enlighten their classmates at their class reunion. The two main characters connected well and if I had to say one thing negative; that would be that Chloe needed to let things go and not be judgmental at times. The chemistry between the two was uncanny. I found it amusing that Chloe had so much control over her emotions, and that Kevin fell victim of a person caught up in love. Who would have thought Mr. Playboy, who has it all, would meet his match. The secondary characters gave the storyline the excitement, twist and turns that was needed. You could definitely see how this would continue on as a series. All the characters had a story to tell and we’ll definitely see when the next series comes out.
I have read several of Ms. Kitt’s books and have enjoyed them. I can say the same about this book and would definitely recommend reading it. reviewer@romanceincolor.com | 25th September 2009
