PLOT SYNOPSIS:

An attack left dancer Brynn Halsted injured in both body and spirit. When handsome jazz club owner Simeon Storey challenges her to recover her self-worth at his Poconos retreat, Brynn can't resist the offer--or the simmering attraction between them. Now with her career and future in the balance, Brynn must risk it all to claim her dreams.

REVIEW:

A professional dancer, Brynn Halsden, lives and breaths dancing and cannot imagine a life without performing.  When a senseless attack leaves her injured and unsure of continuing her career, Brynn is devastated.

Thought they had met briefly before, when Simeon Shorey reenters Brynn’s life, she does not at first remember him.  Simeon, fascinated by Brynn, the dancer, feels she is a snob, but his attraction to her, and his response to her continues to shake his determination to usually stable life.

Despite the shaky start, both Brynn and Simeon cannot deny the fierce attraction between them.  What develops is a relationship which sizzles with passion, but one that also forces Brynn to realize that her life did not end with her injury.

Both Brynn and Simeon are likable main characters.  Simeon stands out as a solid hero, who is willing to do anything for the woman he loves.  Brynn, too, must be applauded for her eventual acceptance of her injury, and her ability to claim her dreams.

A secondary plot line which deals with breast cancer, thought not seeming essential to the love story, does emphasize the need for us to accept help from those who love us as we face the valley-moments of our lives.

Ms. Johnson’s message is clear.  We must recognize the role that fate plays in our lives;  that our self-worth, not in our ability to enjoy life when all is perfect, but in the ability to face adverse situations with strength of character.   And that we must never give up on our dreams.

In RHYTHMS OF LOVE, Ms. Johnson looks at love within the world of the Arts, exploring the trials and tribulations that can sometimes confront individuals who work in this area.  She has written a passionate story that is sure to please fans!
