SYNOPSIS:

SERIES ROMANCE:  (4) Wayne Jordan

REVIEW:  Brenda Jackson’s Desire series continues with its latest entry, RIDING THE STORM, featuring firefighter Storm Westmoreland.  After a weekend of unbridled sex with Jayla Cole, a family friend, Storm finds himself craving for more that just the physical; a situation that he’s not too pleased about since he’s a player extraordinaire and not accustomed to the tender feelings wrecking havoc with his usually contented lifestyle.

No one does the confirmed bachelor better that Brenda Jackson and Storm Westmoreland is no exception.  He’s handsome, sexy, unattainable and more that a bit marriage-shy. Jayla, too, had no need for commitment, wanting only to start a family on her own with no man to try to take control of her life.  With a set up like this, RIDING THE STORM does not disappoint but sparks with sexual tension as the conflict between Storm and Jayla intensifies.  Of course, in Ms Jackson’s novel, love scenes are essential and she heats up the pages.  Female readers will be left aching for their own Storm.

As with each of the Westmoreland stories, family dynamics play an important role.  It’s a pleasure to get an update of the earlier couples in the series.  RIDING THE STORM is filled with the laughter and love of the Westmoreland family.

Ms. Jackson has created another memorable addition to a series that continues to delight.  I can’t wait until the next story, JARED’S COUNTERFEIT FIANCÉE, coming in May 2005.
