REVIEW:  Raven is adamant about nothing getting in her way of her dreams of being on Broadway. That includes the handsome, sexy and powerful producer Dru Davis. Raven does her best to avoid Dru at all costs. Can she be strong enough to
withstand him? Or will he eventually win her over?

Ms. Shaw introduces two characters that are unique and talented. Both have withstood some challenges in their lives. Raven has always dreamed of dancing in front of an audience. She set her goals and stood by them. I admired her aggressiveness of knowing what she wanted to do and sticking to it. Dru is a business man and looks for ways to take his business to the next level. Not being selfish, he feels his woman should be on the same page with him. And while I think some women would love for a man to take charge like that, Raven is not quite that woman. Both can be stubborn and eager to have their way, to say their relationship goes through some rollercoaster rides is an understatement. Raven jumps to conclusions at times without seeing the full picture. Dru needs to communicate more in making decisions that concerns both parties.

The story takes place in New York. You definitely get a feel of what Broadway is truly like in this story. New York is a fast pace city where dreams can come true.
The secondary characters definitely give the story the twists and turns it needs.
I don’t think anyone will forget Sapphire; Raven’s long lost sister and of course Raven’s best friend Carley. Can you say catfight?

I felt overall that the story was good. It moved just a little too slow for me in the beginning, but it was hard to put the book down after that. I recommend reading this book.
