March 2009

SYNOPSIS:  Supermodels Kennedy and Xavier seem to have it all--hot careers and each other. But crazy schedules and unruly paparazzi threaten their fragile new relationship. Can their soul-deep connection be enough to guarantee a picture-perfect ending?

SERIES ROMANCE |3+| Keren Childers

REVIEW: Ms. Smith introduces two extraordinary characters, both of whom are in the modeling world. Kennedy is exotic, level-headed and wants that big break in the business. With a hectic schedule and travelling throughout the world, she barely has time for herself; let alone male companionship. Kennedy is kind hearted, but is forced to toughen up because she is dealing with some manipulate, vindictive women in this business. Can you say cat fight? Xavier is sexy as hell and, boy, do the women know it. Xavier is good in the bedroom, in the kitchen and his career. Who wouldn’t want a man like this? His character is mature and caring, but his past discretions tend to catch up with him at the wrong time.

In ROMANCING THE RUNWAY, I found the main characters interesting, but not real exciting in the beginning of the story. I didn’t connect with Kennedy and Xavier until the middle of the story. At midpoint, I found the plot convincing and I actually got into it. I found the excitement came from the cat fights among the female models and Kennedy, when I wanted more excitement among the main characters.

The settings are exotic and mesmerizing, featuring locations from around world. It was easy to imagine lying on a beach, in that fantastic swimsuit, basking in the sun. The love scenes were sensual and enjoyable. The secondary characters brought the twist and excitement needed to complete the storyline. Jealousy, envy and the paparazzi definitely plays a part in your life in this type of business.

Overall, ROMANCING THE RUNWAY was a good read and I would recommend reading it.
