REVIEW:  Dara Girard has a fantastic book on her hands with ROUND THE CLOCK. It is the fourth book in The Black Stockings Society series. Anna Marie Williams doesn’t expect much from life. She lives her life by routine not hoping for anything better to come around. Desmond Rockwell is use to marching to the beat of his own drum. After years of rebelling against what his father thought he should do, he has conformed to his father’s beliefs just to keep peace in the family. But he is itching to live his life for himself. When Anna Marie and Desmond meet each other again, they will have to decide if what they have is worth fighting for or is trouble better left alone?

Anna Marie has spent her life moving from one foster home to the next after being taken from her parents at the age of ten. Afraid to let people get to close, Anna Marie lives a secret life where she really comes alive at night. After accepting an invitation to join The Black Stockings Society, Anna Marie finally learns the meaning of self-esteem, friends, family, and love. Desmond Rockwell has spent his life getting into trouble. He is now living a more sedate life but trouble still seems to sneak up on him. As he starts spending more time with Anna Marie, he realizes that she is more complex than she looks, but he is convinced that she’s worth it. Now if only he can convince her of the same thing.

The supporting characters in this novel are very interesting. They each add their own special touch to the characters lives that help to shape them into the people they are working on becoming. The dialogue is interesting and occurs regularly. It is engaging and keeps the reader interested in the story. The story takes place in Virginia.

I have definitely been sleeping on Dara Girard. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Now I need to catch up with the other novels in The Black Stockings Society,
POWER PLAY, A GENTLEMAN’S OFFER, and BODY CHEMISTRY.
