SERIES ROMANCE |4 Keren Childers

REVIEW:  Savannah Fields is a talented executive assistant for a law firm.  She’s an attractive, loving, and caring person who enjoys her life with her husband.  No one would ever suspect that she has a secret that she’s hasn’t even told her husband.  Blake Fields is a handsome, debonair architect that women swarm over when he comes into a room.  He’s just landed a project that could put him and his partner Steve on the map, but he never expects that he would have to include himself as the extra perk to the project.  Can a loving couple get through sex, lies, and scandals that could destroy both their marriage and career?

In SEX AND LIES, Ms. Hill introduces two energetic, powerful people.  Savannah is a smart, caring woman who will do anything for her husband and friends.  But cross her and you will pay, especially when it comes to her husband.  Blake is a man of morals, I liked this about him.  This man has worked hard to get where he is and he has a strong backbone when it comes to standing up for what’s right.  I love the relationship that Savannah and Blake have.  The loves scenes are hot, steamy, and off the charts.  The plot is creative and entertaining, but somewhat unrealistic.  It’s a mystery plot, but reminds me too much of a Mission Impossible skit.  Too many times while reading I thought “come on now” let’s be realistic here.

The secondary characters are a blast.  You have Tristan Montgomery, a gorgeous model figure that feels because she has money, she can and will do whatever she wants, at any cost.  If she wants your man then of course she will go after him.  This is the type of woman that you wouldn’t dare invite over to your house if you were married.  Then you have Dani and Nia who are best friends with Savannah.  These women are hilarious and remind me so much of Cagney and Lacy.  They can scope out anything and have the connections to get whatever they need.  These secondary characters give the story the punch it needed.

Overall, the story was a good read and I enjoyed it.
