REVIEW:  Harlequin Blaze novel, SPONTANEOUS is singe-your-undies HOT! I couldn’t stop reading and finished the book in one night. Needless to say, I was sporting some blood shot eyes at work the next day but it was worth it. From the plot, characters, setting, to the love scenes: SPONTANEOUS is hot and spicy.

Aspiring doctor, Kimani Cannon has a Jones in her bones for Private Investigator, Duan Jeffries and the feeling is mutual. In fact, their second encounter leads to a scandalous quickie which is a titillating prelude to what follows. Duan and Kimani, both commitment-phobic settle on a steamy friends-with-benefits relationship. Kim’s mother on the other hand has no problems committing and is about to walk up the aisle a fourth time. Unfortunately her fiancé is suspected in the death of his two former wives. Duan and Kim clamor to find evidence of his guilt before her mom becomes dead wife number three. In the meantime, Kim and Duan are faking an engagement but they don’t have to fake genuinely rising feelings. This is one entertaining story from the chapter one to the end. The plot will grab your attention and hold you captive, having you furiously turning pages to see what's next; like I was.

Kimani is a very modern woman who is not chaste and inexperienced but passionate and one unafraid of taking and giving what she desires between the sheets and any other place that strikes her fancy. Duan with his tall, good looks is not usually excited by a beautiful face but he is immediately drawn to Kimani. Kimani’s sexually liberated character is refreshing and although Duan is equally versed, Kimani has him close to screaming on one particular occasion.

Ms. Jackson serves up a tempting appetizer with Duan and Kim’s introduction in Chicago, brings the saucy entrée in Shreveport where Kim and Duan work on each other while working on the case, and delivers a delicious dessert in Atlanta, where declarations are made and futures are forged.

The dialogue in
SPONTANEOUS is flirty and fun but serious and suspenseful when it needs to be. Duan and Kimani are so symbiotic they fit together like puzzles pieces. Their connection seems very real and their characters come alive as they share and discover each other.

Don’t take my word for it. Pick up a copy of
SPONTANEOUS and be thoroughly entertained! This Blaze books is bad and I mean “bad” like the King of Pop would say.
