SYNOPSIS: MAINSTREAM FICTION |4| Dianthia Lemons REVIEW: Chantelle Higgins and her friends Erica and Ashley are on their way to the Caribbean Island of Artula for Spring Break and a much needed vacation from their studies at Lancaster University. Everything starts out well and the girls are having a wonderful time in paradise. Sunny days, parties at night and all appears to be going well until Ashley has a break-up with her boyfriend, Ryan Sinclair. Things go from tense to bad very quickly. At first no one is surprised that Ashley has not returned to the resort but after a few days, Chantelle is sure her roommate is missing. Especially after she talks with the man she thought Ashley was with, Jason Shear. It seems that Jason is an editor from New York who is there to write a story on women who go missing on the Island or vanish without a trace. Jason knows first-hand about women disappearing because in 1987, his sister disappeared without a trace on Spring Break. Chantelle refuses to give up looking for her friend and the more she probes, the more questions are raised. The one person who could have shed information as to Ashley’s location is murdered; Jason is assaulted and run off the Island. The local police turn out to be of no assistance and may be accomplices to the events behind Ashley’s disappearance. Everything truly is not what it seems and the truth is absolutely shocking.
