SYNOPSIS: The unpredictable and hilarious characters from STILL GUILTY are back in the third installment of the Guilty series. Set in Ferguson, Missouri, the feud is rekindled between the Reynolds and Jamieson families. This time around, Cheney Jamieson refuses to carry anyone's baggage. She's been there and done that.

INSPIRATIONAL FICTION |4+| Darlene Mitchell

REVIEW:  Parke K. and Cheney Jamieson VI shares a love beyond reality and belief as they continue their journey serving God and believing they can sire the next generation of Paki and Elaine Jamieson. However, Cheney’s botched abortion in college hinders that possibility, thus leaving Cheney to seek comfort and love in the arms of Parke and their adopted daughter Kami.

Prayer reigns and rules in the household of Parke K. Jamieson VI, yet the seed of doubt quietly slips into their hearts as the promises of God are not manifesting fast enough. Test after test, Parke’s and Cheney’s faith weakens and momentarily stumbles as they pray, impatiently waiting for their miracles.

As if the stress of doubt is not straining Parke and Cheney’s marriage to a breaking point, the attempted murder and hit and run trials of Cheney’s surrogate grandmother Mrs. Beacon (Grandma BB) and her father, Roland Reynolds gets underway. Fearing the survival of her marriage and adding to her burdens and loneliness, Cheney secretly copes with the momentary inattentiveness of Parke who is seeking proof and custody of a son he never knew existed.

Pat Simmons very poignantly continues her Guilty Series with a dynamic, heart wrenching drama filled with love, laughter, tears and intimacy. Using strong characters to quote Bible scriptures while going through real life trials captures an array of emotions making this a believable storyline. The chemistry between the Jamieson men and their women epitomizes the very essence of the love God ordains for marriage and relationships. With a very diverse supporting cast of characters like The Red Hat Society, Kami the cute little diva, Rainey, Cheney’s twin who’s battling his own demons concerning forgiveness, and two confused lifelong friends one of which believes she’s black when she is really white adds excitement and laughter to an emotional storyline that flows superbly. Ms. Simmons creatively reveals how God’s Word can heal, restore, and fulfill our every desire when we seek, believe and trust Him wholeheartedly no matter how many trials and tribulations the devil brings our way!

STILL GUILTY is the third book in the Guilty Series that deals with love, forgiveness and salvation. God’s Word says “to forgive those who have trespassed against us so that He can forgive us of our trespasses.” Yet the question remains…without God, can man really forgive? This book was a wonderful read, which I highly recommend as well as the previous books in the series; GUILTY OF LOVE and Not Guilty of Love, for they will purely melt your heart.
