SERIES ROMANCE:  (4)  Wayne Jordan

REVIEW:  Brenda Jackson continues her Westmoreland series with Stone’s story.  Stone, the confirmed bachelor, knows that he’ll never get married.  When he meets the attractive Madison Winters on a flight to Montana, his attraction to her is immediate.  The flight becomes one of subtle seduction.  When Madison informed him that she’s trying to find her mother who has gone up into the mountains with a man; Stone believes that the man in question is his uncle, a situation that is eventually discovered to be true.  The two are thrown together, and Stone realizes that he has to examined his feeling about love and commitment.

Stone and Madison are appealing main characters. Stone has the sexy appeal of a playboy, and readers will enjoy watching him surrender to what he’s been avoiding for years; especially when he sets out to seduce Madison and gets more that he bargains for.  Madison is cautious about her feelings for Stone, but is unable to deny them and willingly gives into the passion burning between them.  When they come together, the skies of Montana explode.

As with each of the Westmoreland stories, the sense of family is strong and the introduction of new family members lays the ground work for stories to come.   Ms. Jackson’s vivid description and the lushness of the mountains create a vivid sense of place…clearly reflecting Montana’s physical beauty

STONE COLD SURRENDER is quintessential Brenda Jackson and displays what makes the Silhouette/Desire line so popular; an absorbing love story filled with intense sexual tension.  Definitely hot, STONE COLD SURRENDER demonstrates Ms. Jackson’s ability to weave unique love scenes that are vivid, detailed and totally sensual.

I’m looking forward to the next Westmoreland installment, RIDING THE STORM, in December 2004.
