SERIES ROMANCE |4| Anamaria Akins

REVIEW:  Omar Masterson is working on a documentary for Urban Television Production and is interviewing Stacy Watts for the program. Stacy Watts is a hip hop diva who has made it to the big time. Her manager and mother figure Brenda, controls every aspect of Stacy’s life, to ensure that she keeps her celebrity status and continues to get the movie roles that’s destined to come her way. However a situation arises in which Stacy is in need of a man that can act as her boyfriend, which is a plan that will hopefully save her career. Omar comes to the rescue, despite the extreme disapproval of Brenda.

The plot keeps the reader guessing as to which one will truly give in to their feelings for the other first. The story moves along well giving the reader time to get to know and care about the characters and to watch their relationship develop at a believable pace. The settings, while not a major element of the story gives the reader a vivid picture of the characters everyday surroundings.

Overall, I recommend STRAIGHT TO THE HEART to anyone who is a sucker for a real romance, and enjoys details.  Ms. Monkou's latest release is a fun and interesting light read. I couldn’t wait to see how the characters would grow throughout the story. I really appreciated how the author brought back characters from previous novels and look forward to Ms. Monkou’s upcoming novels.
