REVIEW:  With TAKE ME THERE, author Leslie Esdaile delivers a lighthearted look at romance between CPA Karin Michaels and Def Island Sounds founder and CEO Jacques (J.B.) Bernard Dubois.

When music mogul J.B. finds his next hit maybe in the form of a tax lien from the IRS he seeks a new accounting firm for relief. But, with the boss out sick and his top staff handling other major accounts Karin’s expertise is finally challenged when she’s assigned the task of securing the multi-millionaire’s account. Jacques is immediately taken with Karin and after mistaking her for the company’s secretary is equally taken by her fieriness in the way she corrected his thinking and confidently assessed the depth of his situation in true Philly sista’ style. Karin is shocked by her own candidness after their introductions, she prides herself at being professional but there is something beyond the surface of this talented rap icon that compels her to help the sexy Island Sounds star.

The story begins in the city of brotherly love Philadelphia, PA but unfolds surrounded by the sensual beauty in the tropical oasis of St Lucia with its picture perfect skies and crystal blue waters. Jacques and Karin are a spirited pair whose chemistry explodes like a tidal wave. Mrs. Orville is the wise second mother slash housekeeper you can’t help but love. But, it’s Karin’s self-absorbed doctor boyfriend Lloyd I would have liked to see taken down a notch or two more. As with many of Ms. Esdaile’s characters the dialogue between Jacques and Karin is often metaphoric as they share their inner emotions with each other.

Although Jacques and Karin’s trip to love was a bit too speedy, TAKE ME THERE is still a delightful read. Ms. Esdaile is a wonderful storyteller who keeps her readers satisfied in whatever genre she writes.
