REVIEW:
Mariella Duvall lives her life
according to her own rules.
She’s belligerent, controlling, stubborn; but she’s also is beautiful
and caring when she wants to be. Ian
Cooper is difficult at best.
He also lives by his rules and hides his emotions behind his “I
don’t give a damn attitude.”
It’s his way or the highway. Can
you imagine putting the two of them together?
Ian thinks that what he says goes, but Mariella is determined to
show him that she lives by her rules and no one, especially a man, can
tell her what to do. Will Ian be
able to tame Mariella, or will Mariella get her way and woo Ian under
her spell of beauty and lust? With TAMING MARIELLA, I
found myself liking Mariella, but at the same time she got on my nerves.
She’s a beautiful, vibrant, and intelligent woman; but she doesn’t know
how to open up to people. Ian is
dark, bull headed, and comical; but gorgeous never the less.
He knows he can handle Mariella and goes about doing just that, but no
one can be in control all the time.
Evidently Mariella and Ian didn’t know that.
The chemistry between the two is comical and annoying all in one.
Their relationship was a constant rollercoaster ride and I enjoyed their
loving making and their time together; even with the occasional bickering.
But after awhile, the constant
miscommunication dragged on a little too much for me. The plot was intriguing,
it had you wondering throughout the story.
The secondary characters
give the story finality. Josh, Ian’s twin, is the clean-up person.
He saw problems and fixed them. He isn’t as gorgeous as Ian, but he
brings charisma.
Gen, Mariella’s roommate and assistant, brings peace to the clan.
She understands Mariella as much as her sisters, and was there to smooth
things over when they got out of hand.
I enjoyed the appearance of Mariella’s
sister Isabella and her family from THE BLUE GLASS SLIPPER, it brought a family
bond to the story. Overall, Ms. Girard does
a good job and I recommend reading this story. reviewer@romanceincolor.com | 5th March 2008
