REVIEW:
TEMPTATION’S SONG
is the first in Janice Sim’s Temptation series. Elle Jones is an aspiring opera
mezzo-soprano singer who happens to be in the right place at the right time.
While vacationing in Milan with her two best friends, Elle auditions for the
leading role in Dominic Corelli’s opera Temptation. Dominic Corelli is a beast
when it comes to directing his operas. The confirmed bachelor has a rule of
never getting involved with the women in his plays. That is until Elle Jones
appears and puts a hammer in those plans. Will Dominic discover that he can love
Elle and still create masterpiece operas before he looses the love of his life?
Elle Jones has sung in the chorus for the Metropolitan Opera for the past four
years. So when the opportunity arises for her to audition for a leading role in
on of her favorite musicians opera, she leaps at the chance. As her stellar
performance places her in the spotlight, Elle relies on Dominic to guide her new
introduction to fame. Dominic finds himself falling hard for his new leading
lady. He vows not to make a move on her until after opening night to ensure her
success. As opening night comes to an end, Dominic must convince Elle to date
him with the understanding that he’s not looking for love, marriage, or kids.
Elle enters into this agreement even though she realizes that she has already
falling irrevocably in love with Dominic. As they embark on the next step in
their relationship, Elle must decide if her love is enough for the both of them
or if she is better off without Dominic in her life.
The story takes place in Milan. There is a trip to Lake Como that is integral in
the development of Elle and Dominic’s personal relationship. The setting is the
ultimate romantic city. The dialogue in the story is very enchanting. Janice
Sims throws in Italian words to help the reader feel as if they are a part of
the story. The supporting characters give advice to the main characters and help
steer them to each other.
I thoroughly enjoyed
TEMPTATION'S SONG. I became
captivated by the story and the characters. Janice Sims did an excellent job in
telling Elle and Dominic’s story. I can’t wait for the book in the Temptation
series.
