CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE |4| Marguerite Lemons

REVIEW:  Faith Wheeler is an entertainment reporter in Hollywood, who realizes that new up and coming mega star, Zander Baron, isn’t who he claims to be. Zander thought he had left the pain of his past, and lost the only person whoever loved him, when he disappeared from his hometown in the midst of a storm. That is, until she shows up at the press conference for his new movie. Faith’s appearance and her questions threaten to unearth demons he had buried years ago.

Faith is the headstrong and stubborn only child of the the coal mine owner in her hometown of Booger Hollow, West Virginia. She fell in love with Alexander Brannon, the town bad-boy, except Alex really wasn’t bad; he was just a product of his environment. He and Faith became friends as much because of their differences as their attraction to each other. Faith walked away from all the creature comforts to make her own way, and Alex, “Zander“, simply allowed everyone to think he was dead. When the two of them get together, the sparks begin to fly, but their stubbornness and quick tempers threaten to tear them part.

TEMPTING FAITH is the story of small town people with small town attitudes, who fail to realize that everyone deserves to be treated with respect. It’s a story about two people who overcome their parents overbearing, and sometimes abusive behaviors, and find success on their own terms. There are a multitude of characters, some who show us how little it takes to boost someone’s self-esteem, while others show how little it takes to tear someone down. The story also shows that sometimes the best way to silence your tormentors and bullies is to succeed, even when the odds are against you.

Ms. Hubbard has written a touching love story that shows how love can endure, even under some very harsh circumstances.
TEMPTING FAITH is a good and satisfying read.
